Present during a video meeting

You can present your entire screen or a specific window in a meeting. While you present, you can share information such as documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and more.


  • When using Google Workspace you can hold large remote events.
  • Workspace organizations with admin capabilities can switch this feature on or off for the entire organization.
  • For mobile users, you currently can't share audio while you present.

Present during a video meeting

Tip: There can be a maximum of up to 10 simultaneous presentations in a meeting at a time.
  1. Join a Meet video meeting.
  2. At the bottom, click Present now Share screen .
  3. Select Your entire screen, A window, or A tab.
    • If you present a Chrome tab, it shares that tab's audio by default.
    • To present a different tab, select the tab you want to present, click Share this tab instead.
    • If you present a Slides presentation through a tab, you can control it in Meet.
  4. Click Share.
  5. Optional: To unpin your presentation and view it as a tile, click Unpin . You can now see more participants while you present.


  • If your camera is turned on, your video is active while you're presenting.
  • For better presentations and to prevent mirroring, share a new window or a specific tab instead of the meeting window.
  • To share your audio, you must select Share a Chrome tab or Share this tab.

Stop presenting

  • In the Meet window, click Stop Presenting.
  • At the bottom right, click You are presenting and then Stop presenting.

Present if someone else is already presenting

  1. At the bottom, click Present now.
  2. Select Your entire screen, A window, or Chrome Tab.
  3. Select Present instead.
Tip: If you start to present during someone else's presentation, their presentation will pause.

Control Slides presentations in Google Meet

The following Workspace editions can control Slides in Google Meet:

  1. Join a Meet video meeting.
  2. Open a presentation in Slides.
  3. At the bottom of the Meet video meeting, click Present now Share screen and then A tab.
  4. Click the tab with the Slides presentation.
  5. Click Share.
  6. At the bottom left of the video meeting, click Start slideshow.
  7. In the control panel at the bottom right, you can:
    • Move to another slide. To navigate, click the arrow buttons.
    • Jump to a specific slide. Click the slide number and a list of slides to choose from display.
    • End the slideshow.
    • Open links or play videos embedded in the presentation.
      • After you click Play Play, a list of the links display. 

Present to Google Meet from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides

Important: You must use a computer and a Chrome browser to present directly to Google Meet from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
